In the 10 states of Nigeria, since April, 34,983 people suffered from floods.

This was stated by the director for planning, research and forecasting of the Nigerian National Emergency Agency (NEMA) Fatima Kasim.

Kasim noted that 7,353 people were forced to move due to floods caused by heavy rains.

According to her, natural disasters destroyed 1679 houses and damaged 866 hectares of land.

5 people became victims of floods, another 75 were injured.

According to the Nigeria government, more than 600 people died as a result of floods in 2022. The pouring rains caused damage to the country’s economy in the amount of $ 7 billion.
