Participants in climate conference in Glasgow agreed on final statement

Delegates of more than 200 countries participating in the 26th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, agreed on the text of the final documents of the Forum, stated to the chairman of COP26 Alok Sharm, reports TASS.

“I apologize to all delegates for how this process passed, and deeply regret the changes made to the text of the final statement at the last minute. I understand the strong disappointment, however, as you were noted, it was vital to protect this Package of documents from the threat of non-confirmation, “he noted.

The adopted final document of the UN Conference on Climate contains softer formulations across the corner and fossil fuel than in the projects of the agreement.

The participants of the Climate Conference also agreed on the rules of application of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, which provides for the introduction of specific mechanisms for regulating greenhouse gas emissions and carbon trade trade. Fierce discussions about the rules of its implementation were made for several years.
