Patrushev accuses West of preparing for an open conflict with Russia

Western countries “do not stop preparing” for an open armed conflict with Russia. This was stated by the Secretary of the Council of People’s Commissars of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev, speaking on Friday at the 17th meeting of secretaries of security councils of states – members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

“Events around Ukraine show that Westerners are trying to balance on the verge between hybrid actions and an open armed conflict with our country, which they do not stop preparing,” said Patrushev, quoted by the Russian media.

According to Patrushev, “a special military operation begun by our country in Ukraine is used only as an excuse for the unworthy of an unprecedented global anti -Russian campaign.”
