Pets in Azerbaijan began to test on COVID-19

The Azerbaijan Institute of Food Security began research work on the study of the dissemination of COVID-19 among pets (dogs and cats). This project has a lot of scientific importance from the point of view of identifying the reasons for the spread of the COVID-19 pathogen among animals and preventive measures that must be taken to prevent the circulation to the environmental circulation. In the framework of the project for a month, the pets have become infected with COVID-19 from people, there are samples for testing to coronavirus.

The project will be implemented in stages. Currently, samples are taken in animals in veterinary clinics Baku and Absheron district, as well as cats and dogs in shelters.

Note that the highly pathogenic causative agent of SARS-COV-2 disease, along with a person, is danger and animals.

COVID-19 has already been discovered in the inhabitants of zoos and pets around the world. According to scientific research, one of the main reasons for the spread of COVID-19 among animals, especially dogs and cats, is close contact with infected people.

It should be noted that the probability of transmitting the COVID-19 virus onto a person and its distribution among pets every day increasingly increases.
