Poland signed an agreement on construction of first nuclear power plant in country

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Moravetsky in the United States took part in signing an agreement with the American Westinghouse on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland.

This was reported by the press service of the Polish Prime Minister.

The agreement provides for the participation of American experts in the design and construction of nuclear power plants in Polish Pomerania. Polskie Elektrowne Jądrowe will be performed on the Polish side of the work, which previously gave the appropriate permission.

According to Moravetsky, the construction of a nuclear power plant will make Poland a “security supplier for central European countries, just as today Poland is already becoming a gas hub – a state that is independent from the gas side.”

Poland plans to have only three nuclear power plants with three reactors each that will produce about 30% of all energy.
