Poland: voting in parliamentary elections and referendum

In Poland, voting began in a general election and referendum.

Power stations opened at 07:00 and close at 21:00 local time.

Citizens of the country will choose 460 deputies of the lower house of parliament (Sejm) and 100 senators in the upper house (Senate).

In the vote, more than 29 million voters are entitled to participate.

It is expected that the official results of the elections will be announced on October 17th.

According to recent surveys, the ruling party “Law and Justice” (pis)

will receive about 36 % of the vote, slightly overtaking the “civil coalition” with 31.38 % of voter support.

According to forecasts that the appearance of voters will reach 68 percent.

In addition, on the same day, voters will be able to take part in a referendum initiated by the ruling party. They have to answer questions on the problem of illegal migration, sales of state property and raising the retirement age.
