President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with the President of the Council of the European Union (EU) Charles Michel.
According to the statement of the Presidential Communications Department, the President of the European Council Michelle called President Erdogan and congratulated him on a re -election for the presidency.

President Erdogan said that in order to consider the issue of full -fledged Turkish membership in the EU, which is of great strategic importance for Europe, it is necessary to develop contacts at all levels with a specific and positive agenda of the day.
The head of the Turkish state emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of updating the Customs Union, ensuring the liberalization of the visa regime, the management of immigration and the fight against terrorism.
