Presidents of Belarus and Azerbaijan visited revived territories in Karabakh

As part of the state visit to Azerbaijan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, together with the Azerbaijani colleague Ilham Aliyev, visited the revived territories in the Karabakh region of the republic, the Belarusian and Azerbaijani State Media reports.

The head of the Belarusian state in the morning, on Friday, May 17 flew to the city of Fizuli. Ilham Aliyev met at the airport at the airport at the ramp of an airplane.

The President of Azerbaijan briefly told Lukashenko about the work on the restoration and development of the liberated territories, the construction of new infrastructure facilities.

Lukashenko got acquainted with the new airport, and the heads of state, accompanied by an impressive motorcade, headed to the city.

During the trip, Lukashenko and Ilham examined the territories of the city, destroyed objects and promising areas for development. On the route, the presidents drove in the same car, the Azerbaijani leader was driving.

Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted with expositions reflecting the dynamics of the restoration of destroyed objects, after which both leaders went to the city of Shusha.

On Thursday, May 16, Alexander Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev held official negotiations in Baku. One of the topics of the meeting was the post -war restoration of the territories of Azerbaijan.

The city of Fizuli was released from the Armenian occupation on October 17, 2020. Fizuli International Airport, where Lukashenko arrived in the morning, is the first airport at Karabakh, freed from the occupation. The opening ceremony of the air harbor, which was built in eight months, took place on October 26, 2021.
