Prime Minister Bulgaria announced expulsion of Russian diplomats

Bulgaria will declare non-grants a number of Russian diplomats due to the case of espionage, said the Prime Minister of the Country Boyko Borisov, reports RIA Novosti.

“With Russia, we have good partnerships for a number of areas, but this spyware must be stopped! Bulgaria will continue to resolutely protect their national security and Euro-Atlantic affiliation,” he said to journalists.

On the eve, the prosecutor’s office of Bulgaria reported on March 18 suspects in espionage in favor of Russia. According to the department, a former high-ranking officer of the Bulgarian military intelligence officer addressed the leader of the group, including intelligence officers in Moscow. Prosecutors believe that his goal was to create a reconnaissance and recruitment of people with access to secret information. The mediator between the leader of the group and Russian diplomats was his wife, who has citizenship of Bulgaria and Russia.
