Prime Minister Moldova and OSCE representative discussed security in region

Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Republic held a meeting with the special representative of the OSCE chairmanship of the Transnistrian settlement Thomas Mayr-Karting. The discussion was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of reintegration Oleg Serebryan and the head of the OSCE mission to the Republic of Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Caderling, Moldpres reports.

Interlocutors talked about the security situation in the region in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, as well as about measures for economic and social integration of citizens of both shores of the Dniester.

The head of the executive branch emphasized that the government leads the region in accordance with the goals of peace and security, as well as economic development and social protection. Officials indicated the need to maintain a dialogue with international partners participating in the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement to maintain stability and prevent the escalation of tension.

Another goal, mentioned by Prime Minister Dorin Repecan, concerns the transparency of the business environment on the left bank of the Dniester and accelerate the process of integration of citizens of the Transnistrian region.

Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Kharting highly appreciated the efforts of the authorities to maintain peace and security in the region and confirmed support to the organization for cooperation and security in Europe in the process of peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
