Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fitzo announced cessation of military assistance to Ukraine

Prime Minister of the newly formed Government of Slovakia Robert Fitzo, announced the cessation of military assistance to Ukraine.

According to the Slovak news site Aktuality, the Prime Minister of the Coalition Government Fitzo, in his statement said that he would not support military assistance to Kyiv.

Having stated that military assistance to Ukraine will be stopped, the prime minister noted: “The European Union must turn from a weapon supplier into an intermediary.”

He opposed the sanctions of the West against Russia and said that he would not vote for any sanctions against Moscow if their consequences for Slovakia were not evaluated.

Touching upon the Russian-Ukrainian war, Fitzu emphasized that “it would be better for them to participate in peace negotiations for 10 years than 10 years to participate in the conflict.”

The coalition government formed by the Social Democratic Party (Smer), which took first place in the September 30 in Slovakia elections, the Liberal Party Voice (Hlas) and the Slovak National Party (SNS), today has begun to fulfill its duties.

Smer Chairman Robert Fitzo, who takes over the post of Prime Minister of Slovakia for the 4th time, at the ceremony organized after the approval of the new composition of the cabinet by President Zuzana Chapovova, promised to be constructive.
