“The procedure for using the name of the city of Shusha is determined.” This was reflected in the Law “On the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha”, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to the law, with the exception of cases established by the laws of the Azerbaijan Republic and the body (institution), the use of the word “Shusha” (the phrase “shusha”) is allowed in the following cases only by the body defined by the relevant executive body with The consent of the institution):
– in the names of legal entities, including the media;
– in the names of awards and bonuses;
– in the names of local, national or international events, including sports and other competitions, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, conferences, seminars;
– for commercial and advertising purposes;
– in trademarks and geographical indexes.
In connection with these cases, the Shushinsky State Reserve has the exclusive right to use its name and official name “Shusha”.
