Proponents of Saakashvili continue protests

Hundreds of supporters of the largest opposition party of Georgia “Unified National Movement” (UND) conduct a protest action at the Mightian building in Tbilisi, says Sputnik Georgia.

Protesters require the release of the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, his translation into a civilian clinic, as well as the appointment of early extraordinary elections.

The Chairman of the End Nika Melia stated that daily shares would be held on different locations, from different ministries: “Movement, movement – until the safety of Mikhail Saakashvili is provided.”

The opposition leaders also require a meeting with the Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze, in order to personally hear explanations in connection with the transfer of Saakashvili into a prison hospital.

Previously, Saakashvili was translated into a prison hospital in the Gldan district of Tbilisi from Rusta Prison due to the deterioration of health. The opposition, which insisted on the translation of Saakashvili to the civil hospital, considers his translation into a prison hospital illegal and plans to perform protests every day.
