Protective beard, smell of violence, quantities of corrupt officials: Named winners “Schnobelovka”

The 31st ceremony of awarding the Schnobel Prize – parody of the Nobel Prize, issued for often comic, but at the same time serious scientific research was held in the United States. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held in remote format. The laureates of the 31st “Schnobel Prize” were scientists from 24 countries.

“The Peace Prize” went to researchers who studied the “protective functions” beard. American scientists during the experiment found evidence that the vegetation on the face can protect against blows into this very face.

Medicine award was awarded to researchers who proved that the orgasm is as effective in removing the nasal congestion, as well as drugs that take swelling.

Award in the category “Economy” went to Paul Blavatsky from the French Business School Montpellier. He explored corruption in the countries of the former USSR. An analyst suggested that the degree of obesity of politicians can directly reflect the level of bribery.

The award in chemistry received a group of scientists from Germany, Britain, Greece, Australia, which studied the composition of air in cinemas. Researchers tried to find out if there is a connection between the smells that highlight the audience, and scenes of violence, antisocial behavior, drug use shown in films.

The ecology premium went to scientists from Spain and Iran. They applied genetic analysis in the study of species of bacteria located in the thrown-in chewing rubber bands on sidewalks of different countries.

Biologist Susanna Shetz received a premium for analyzing sounds that publish domestic cats. She described the results of a monthly experiment, during which 538 vocationalities of their pets recorded.

In addition, the Schnobel awards in two nominations – “physics” and “kinetics” – went to scientists who tried to find out with the help of experiments to find out why pedestrians do not face each other constantly and why pedestrians are still sometimes encountered.
