Putin about genocide in Donbas

Russian President Vladimir Putin after a meeting with the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that what is happening now on the territory of Donbass is a genocide.

“According to our estimates, what happens in the Donbas today is, this is a genocide,” said Vladimir Putin at a press conference, which Russia 24 TV channel broadcast.

He also said that in Ukraine, the human rights and the law discrimination against the Russian-speaking population are enorted in Ukraine. Also, according to him, about the special status of Donbass, there are no skaters, there are still no local elections on this territory. In addition, the Ukrainian government ignores the opportunity to peacefully restore the integrity of the country by direct negotiations with the DPR and LPR.

According to him, most Russians support Donbass residents. The head of state expressed the hope that the situation in the region “will change fundamentally.”

President assured that Russia does not want war. Putin called on Western countries to influence Kiev to resolve the situation.
