Putin considered Merkel words “unexpected” and told decision on “special operation” correctly

Russian President Vladimir Putin is disappointed with the words of the ex-Chancellor of Germany Angels Merkel that the Minsk agreements concluded to “give Ukraine time.” The Russian leader told about this at a press conference in Bishkek, his statements are given by Russian media.

Putin noted that Merkel’s statement became unexpected and disappointing for him, since he believed that the leadership of Germany, even supporting Ukraine, leads a sincere dialogue with Russia.

The Russian president believes that the words of the ex-Chancellor indicate that Russia has come correctly by starting a “special operation” in Ukraine.

Putin found that negotiations were then conducted only for the “pumping” of Ukraine with weapons: “Well, we see, yes. Apparently, we were late, honestly. Maybe all this had to be started before.”
