The Netherlands media regulator issued the Rain TV channel permission for commercial television broadcasting.
The broadcasting for the rain brand was received by TVR Studios B.V., according to the regulator website.
Latvian radio suggested that the license will probably allow the “rain” to distribute its programs on cable television networks in all countries of the European Union, including in Latvia.
On December 6, 2022, the Latvian National Council for the Electronic Media revoked a broadcast license from the rain television channel. This happened after the presenter Alexei Korostelev said on the air that the “could help” the Russian military who faced violations during mobilization. Rain TV channel decided to challenge the license’s review.
