Rare Operation: In Israel, divided into captured twins

In Israel, they spent the rare operation on the separation of twins that have grown up. For the first time, one year old girls looked at each other on September 5 after the long procedure, to which surgeons were preparing for several months.

Reuters told in the medical center that the operation took more than 12 hours and demanded a month of preparation. It involved dozens of experts from Israel and other countries. The medical center states that the operation included the reconstruction of the skull and a scalp transplant from both girls.

“It was a rare and challenging operation, which was held only 20 times around the world, and now for the first time in Israel,” said the chief children’s neurosurgeon of the Mickey Gideon Center.
