Residents of Tashkent prefer rest on Charvak dam

Citizens who are overcome by the heat in the capital of Uzbekistan Tashkent, prefer the Charvak dam to cool.

located 80 kilometers from Tashkent, on the western slopes of the mountains of Tien Shan, the Charvak dam is one of the favorite places of those who want to plunge into the water after hot weather.

In Uzbekistan, where a dry climate prevails and the temperature in the summer exceeds 40 degrees, Charvak dams high above the sea level of 1200 meters, where rivers Gyoksu, Pyski and chat, are one of the cooler places in the region.

There are many hotels, resting places, cottages and guest houses in the Charvak basin. People living in Tashkent and its environs, in the summer months, are flowing into this region on vacation.

The construction of the Charvak hydroelectric power station, which was completed in 1970, covers the total area of ​​37 square kilometers. In addition to providing agricultural lands in Tashkent and its environs, built on the dam of hydroelectric power plants, produces 2 billion kilowatts of electricity hours per year.

Rustam Inamov, who came to Charvak with his family from Tashkent, told the correspondent to Anadolu (AA) that they preferred for weekends in the region to hide from the scorching Tashkent heat.

At the same time, Rustam said that although there are many guest houses in the Charvak basin, the residence fee is very expensive. He added that this is due to the lack of an alternative to relax in the region.
