Russia chooses Turkish equipment

The Russian company Novatek will buy Turkish equipment for its LNG project. A power station from Turkey will replace American equipment, Russian media write.

After the start of the war in Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against Moscow, the American company Baker Hughes refused to cooperate with Russia. After that, Novatek began to look for an alternative supplier for the Arctic LNG-2 plant.

The order will be completed by the Turkish company Karpowership. The power of the floating power plant on gas piston engines will be 300-400 MW. The construction periods are still unknown.

The company plans to build three liquefaction lines for liquefied natural gas at the factory. Their capacity will be 6.6 million tons per year each. The launch time is still in question.
