Russia does not have enough workers for military factories

Due to the war in Ukraine, Russian military plants were faced with a lack of about 20 thousand workers. Russian media write about this with reference to the Secretary of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) Oleg Sokolov.

In the summer of 2022, the enterprises of the military-industrial complex (OPC) have already changed the mode of operation. Now they work in three shifts, seven days a week and vacations. Business was obliged to fulfill the orders of the army out of turn. These measures did not save the situation.

In order to solve the problem of personnel at military plants, the Russian Ministry of Labor proposed to pay compensation to unemployed who would agree to come to work from other regions of Russia. The amount can be up to 262 188 rubles. For the first time, funds will be allocated in 2023.

Despite the numbers of 20 thousand, the Ministry of Labor officially, they are differently evaluated by the shortage of personnel in the defense industry of 3814 people.

“there really is a shortage of personnel, primarily qualified workers – locksmiths, turners, machine tools, a certain deficiency of IT specialists is observed,” a source in Rostec said. According to sources in the Russian Navy, the factories lack collectors of ships, welders, shareholders, pipelines, the representative of the enterprise said.

“Now many defense industry enterprises, which are several thousand in Russia, have chosen all employees from nearby settlements, and in order for someone to go to them, it is necessary to solve the problem of housing and competitive salaries. The defense industry organizations have no money for this, so this The state should subsidize, ”concluded Oleg Sokolov, secretary of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR).
