Rosheology found a sedimentary case with hydrocarbon potential on the Laptev Sea shelf. According to Sergey Gorkkov, the head of the company, the field can be called huge, reports “Moscow Komsomolets”.
Gorky compared the power of this object with oil and gas provinces in Western Siberia. The company plans to conduct seismic exploration as part of work on the definition of the external borders of the continental shelf of Russia.
Gorky called the discovered sedimentary case with a unique geological event. He added that there is a question, in which cycle will be able to get, since “the opportunity for such work in the Arctic is very limited.” It is only a month and a half in summer. However, Rosheology plans to start exploration already in 2021.
