“Russia plans to continue war until end of year”

Russian troops, after the control of Lisichansk, took a break this week and refrain from major offenses, the head of the Estonian Defense Forces of Estonia Margo Grosberg said at a press conference. According to his assessment, the break can last another week.

As a result, the past week was relatively calm in Ukraine, Russian troops took a tactical break, but their next purpose will be to control the entire territory of the Donetsk region, Grosberg said. However, Russian troops continue to apply artillery and missile strikes in cities that may become the following targets, Grosberg added, noting Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Bakhmut.

In his opinion, the break of the Russian troops can last a maximum of two weeks, that is, the next week may be more calmly in military terms.

He noted that a longer pause is inappropriate, since then Ukraine will be able to pull its troops to repel the offensive.

According to him, at the political level there are signs that Russia plans to continue the war until the end of the year or longer, as evidenced by the legislative initiative to reorganize the country’s economy based on military needs. “Otherwise, this would not have happened,” the head of the intelligence center said.
