Russia removed submarines from Crimea – British Ministry of Defense

The British Ministry of Defense in the daily report on the operational situation in Ukraine writes that the submarines that are part of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation left the base in Sevastopol.

submarines, according to the British Defense Department, were transferred to Novorossiysk.

The summary speaks of the Kilo class submarines for NATO codification. These are projects of project 877 “Paltus” and project 636 “Warsaw”. According to open sources, the 4th separate team of submarines of the Black Sea Fleet consists exclusively of the ships of such projects, that is, all submarines left the base in Sevastopol.

Most likely, the UK Ministry of Defense believes, the decision to relocate submarines is associated with an increased security threat due to the fact that Ukraine receives weapons that makes it possible to strike from a considerable distance. Over the past two months, recalls the British defense department, attacked the air base and headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea.

The authorities of the Russian Federation called the guarantee of the presence of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in Crimea one of the justifications for the annexation of the Russians of Russia in 2014, recalls the UK Ministry of Defense. Now, the Black Sea Fleet is at risk due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
