The brown wrinkle virus of tomato fruits, also known as Tobamovirus TobRFV, caused the ban on the import of tomatoes from Azerbaijan to the Astrakhan region. This during quarantine phytosanitary control was revealed by the Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor.
Infection by a quarantine object was confirmed by a laboratory examination, which was conducted by specialists of the Astrakhan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rostov Reference Center of the Rosselkhoznadzor”.
As a result, a party of 47 tons was returned to the country of departure, in full accordance with the requirements of the legislation in the field of quarantine of plants of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation.
