“Special operation” is a “humanitarian mission” of Russia in Ukraine, and military operations are only a means of achieving the main goal – the protection of citizens of Donbass. So said the deputy chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.
“The initial goal of our actions in Ukraine is humanitarian and humanistic, it is not military. Military operations are an instrument, this is the means. And the goal is to protect people who have previously sought protection in all possible places, including the collective West,” – said the Russian senator of the Russian media.
According to Kosachev, supposedly the goals of Russia are incorrectly interpreted in the West. “This is not a dispute between states that this is not a military operation that pursues the purpose of the enemy’s military defeat, but that it is an operation that pursues the goal of protecting people when they did not find this protection anywhere else,” he stated.
