Russia will print ₽900 billion to ensure the finances of the occupied regions of Ukraine. Russian media write about this with reference to the calculations of the Vice-President of the Association of Banks of Russia Alexei Voilukov.
According to him, about 6 million people live in the annexed Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Lugansk regions. It will take 500-600 billion rubles to provide them with money
, however, so far in these regions a payment infrastructure, few ATMs and terminals for non -cash payment are poorly developed. Therefore, cash there will be required more than one and a half times – about 0.9 trillion rubles, ”said Alexei Volukov.
Vice President of the Association of Banks of Russia admitted that technically the Central Bank has already printed these funds. This will not affect inflation in the country, because the money is intended for “new citizens.”
