Russia will spend 7 times more for war than healthcare

The costs of national defense for 2022 in the State Budget of Russia will amount to 4.7 trillion rubles, the country’s Ministry of Finance reports.

compared with the initial plan, allocation will grow by a third, or 1.2 trillion rubles – the amount close to the annual budget of the entire system of higher education in the country (1.4 trillion rubles).

The war, according to the project of the treasury, the authorities plan to continue for at least another year. In 2023, the costs of National Defense will increase to 5 trillion rubles, which is 1.5 trillion more than the amount that was laid in the budget law for 2022-24.

Only from 2024, financing of the Russian army will begin to decrease smoothly – to 4.6 trillion rubles, and in 2025 – up to 4.2 trillion.

For two years, the budget will spend almost 10 trillion rubles on a “military car”, which is 7 times more annual expenses of the federal treasury for healthcare (1.4 trillion rubles), 20 times more annual financing of the housing and communal services system (0.5 trillion rubles) and almost 1.5 thousand times higher than the amount that is allocated for the development of its own production of drugs (6.7 billion rubles in 2022).
