Russian military burned in dugout

Six Russian troops died in a dugout in the Kursk region of Russia due to careless handling of combustible fluid.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

In particular, on February 20, due to gross violation by military personnel safety requirements when handling combustible materials, a flammable fluid in the dugout occurred.

“As a result of a fire that quickly covered the dugout, six military personnel were killed,” the department said.

Russian media reports that the emergency occurred around 10:30 in the morning on February 20 near the village of Ulanok in Sudzhansky district when the soldiers flooded the stove. One of them, presumably, splashed a certain flammable liquid into the furnace, after which he did not manage to close the damper. There was an explosion, the flame covered everything around.
