Russian military pleaded guilty to murder of an unarmed resident of Ukraine

Russian soldier Vadim Shishimarin during the court session pleaded guilty to the murder of an unarmed peaceful resident in the Sumy region, the BBC correspondent from the courtroom reports.

This is the first process over the Russian military for crimes in Ukraine.

Shishimarin is accused of execution of an unarmed cyclist and charged with the article “Violation of the laws and customs of war.”

Simply put, they judge as a war criminal. He faces a punishment up to life imprisonment.

Shishimarin originally from Irkutsk, served as the commander of the department in the 4th Panzer Kantemirov Division of the Moscow Region.
