Scandinavian media will publish news about war in Ukraine in Russian

Finnish, Swedish and Danish newspapers announced that they will publish articles and news about the war in Ukraine in Russian due to the introduction of the restrictions and disappearance of free media in the Russian media. It is reported by “Radio Liberty”.

The Finnish Helsingin Sanomat, Swedish Dagens Nyheter and Danish Politiken, were joined by the Promotion, the Swedish Dagens Nyheter and the Danish Politiken on their sites.

After the start of the war in Ukraine, the authorities of Russia blocked the sites of almost all independent publications (including radio freedom, present, “mediaon”, “Medusa”, the Russian service BBC and many others). Also in the country in one day a law was adopted providing for administrative and criminal (up to 15 years in prison) responsibility for the “discredit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” and “Fakes” about the Russian army. Even the military invasion of Ukraine itself is forbidden to call the war, the Russian authorities call it a “military operation.”
