Scientists have created a vaccine to protect against insect bite

Specialists from Yale University developed a mRNA vaccine that is able to protect the ticks from bites and can help get rid of dangerous insects before they transmit an infection to the body, reports New Atlas.

Experiments with the participation of guinea pigs demonstrated that their immune system after injection vaccine managed to successfully protect the body.

It is noted that as a result of the bite of a tick in the human body, it can get up to ten dangerous diseases. The most famous is the Lyme disease transmitted by Borrelia Burgdorferi bacterium.

The peculiarity of the new vaccine is that it prevents the bite itself of the tick, and not only neutralizes the infection that falls into the body.

It is reported that the new drug is similar to vaccines from COVID-19, however, in contrast to them, the vaccine stimulates the production of proteins that were detected in the SCAPLARIS eNNOG tick slider.

Vaccine clinical trials are scheduled to start in a few years.
