Scientists recreated appearance of father of Pharaoh Tutankhamon

The appearance of Pharaoh ancient Egypt Ehnaton restored employees of a research center of judicial anthropology, paleopathology and bioarcheology (FAPAB) in Sicily, reports Live Science.

To create a digital image, they used the mummy skull found in the valley of the kings in 1907. It is noted that Ehnaton had an elongated jaw and a shrill look, and a shape of a skull and a pointed nose resembled his son – Pharaoh Tutankhamon.

Scientists were engaged in the reconstruction of the person of Ehnathon for months. In their work, they used the Manchester method, which takes into account both the thickness of the soft tissues and the muscles of the face.

“Mimic muscles of the face and ligaments are simulated on the skull models in accordance with the laws of the anatomy. The skin is placed on top of this, and the thickness of the fabric is the average values ​​that were determined from a scientific point of view,” said the director FaPab Francesco Galassi.

Pharaoh Ehnaton from the XVIII rule dynasty from 1353 to 1335 BC. e. He married his sister, who gave him the heir to Tutankhamon. Because of the bloodstream, however, the young man had numerous health problems, which led to his early death.
