Secretary of State: United States supports victims of violence in Myanmar

The United States supports Muslim-Rokhin and other residents of Myanmar, subjected to violence in the country. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the flight of Arakan Muslims in Bangladesh.

Blinken said that on the sixth anniversary of the Genocide against Muslim-Rokhini, the United States still support the victims of violence by the army of Myanmar, and urge the perpetrators to be held accountable.

Secretary of State also expressed gratitude to the people and the Bangladesh government, which allowed Arakan refugees to settle on their territory.

Blinken recalled that the United States imposed a number of sanctions against Myanmar in connection with the continuing violence against the civilian population since 2017. The states support the people of Myanmar “in the name of a democratic and peaceful future,” he said.
