Senegal temporarily suspended work of Consulate General abroad

Consulate Generals of Senegal around the world are temporarily closed due to acts of violence against a number of embassies of the country, the press service of the Senegal Foreign Ministry.

“This step was taken after a series of” aggressive actions “admitted to Senegal’s diplomatic missions and consulates, including Paris, Bordeaux, Milan and New York,” the department explained.

The Foreign Ministry of the African country notes that acts led to serious damage, in particular, at the General of the Consulate of the Senegal in Milan, where equipment was destroyed for the production of passports and personality certificates.

Dakar noted that consulates will resume their work as soon as the conditions for their safe functioning are restored.
