Sholts: number of refugees in Germany is too large

German Chancellor Olaf Sholts said that Berlin seeks to curb illegal immigration with a more strict border control.

He stated this in an interview with the television and radio company Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland.

According to him, more than 70 percent of all migrants did not have registration, although before arriving in Germany almost all of them were in other countries of the European Union.

“The number of refugees who strive to get to Germany is now too large,” said Scholz.

The leader of the German government also announced the intention to develop a migrant control system for a fixed number of refugees for municipalities until November.

“The federal government is completely one in stopping illegal migration to the European Union. This can only be done jointly and in solidarity. Germany will do everything possible to help,” Scholz added.
