The situation in Karakalpastan stabilized. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. In the capital of the Republic of Nukus, protests were held due to the proposed amendments to the Constitution of the country that cancel the autonomous status of the region.
According to the press service, on July 3, Mirziyoyev arrived in Nucus for a second time in a day. The President held a meeting with the participation of all the heads of the regions (hokims) of Karakalpastan to take measures to ensure the safety of citizens, strengthen the rule of law and law and order.
