Son of Atambayeva wins elections to Parliament of Kyrgyzstan

Son of the ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayeva, Seidback, leads to elections to the country’s parliament on the Alamedian single-mandate district, follows from the data on the site CEC.

After processing more than 90% of the ballots on the Alamedi single-mandate district of Seidentbek Atambayev leads from 26% of the vote, interfax passes.

Almazbek Atambayev, who held the post of President Kyrgyzstan from 2011 to 2017, was deprived of presidential inviolability in June 2019, he was charged with corruption. In August 2019, after the riots in the village of Koy-Tash under Bishkek was detained. On June 23, 2020, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced Atambayev by 11 years and two months of imprisonment with confiscation of property in the case of illegal release in 2013 of the criminal authority of Aziza Batukayev. On August 14, the Bishkek City Court left the verdict of the first instance unchanged. On November 30, 2020, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyz abolished the sentence of lower courts. The case was transferred to the revision of the Pervomaisky District Court of the capital. The ex-president is also accused of organizing mass riots in October 2020, as a result of which Soronex Zheenbekov resigned from the post of head of state.
