South Korea will develop plan for unification with DPRK

The Ministry of Association of the Republic of Korea plans to develop after consultations with experts a new average and long-term reunion plan with the DPRK and publish it within 2023, the department said.

South Korean authorities emphasized that the plan will be based on universal values, such as freedom, human rights, openness and communication, and its plan will be aimed at a peaceful, democratic association.

In addition, among the seven tasks, it is to promote the normalization of relations between the South and the North.

“For a breakthrough in the dead end of inter -Korean relations, we will strive for direct and indirect contacts with the north through public and international organizations,” the ministry informed.

Among the remaining areas of work is the promotion of the “bold initiative” of the administration of the President Yun Sok Yolya, the formation of the right view of the association among South Koreans, the reform of the system for supporting defectors, improving the situation with human rights in the DPRK, strengthening the potential and foundation for unification.
