Spy tried to pass coordinates of Himars in Ukraine to Moscow

Arrested in December on charges of Gosizmen, an employee of the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany Karsten Link was going to transfer information about the positions of Western military equipment received by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is reported by Der Spiegel.

According to the investigation, the FSB tried through its agent to find out the most accurate coordinates of the detective systems of a volley fire (MLRS) Himars and Iris-T. Sources of the publication, familiar with the case, say that the leak of such data is unlikely.

Such work was paid by a six -digit amount in the euro. Money was discovered at the exposed spy during the detention.

At the end of December, the German intelligence agencies accused the German BND employee of espionage in favor of Russia. As The Telegraph found out, the former football player Karsten Linka turned out to be detained, who finished his sports career for the sake of intelligence service. Linka led divisions of electronic intelligence and internal security. It was believed that before the arrest Linka built a successful career, was on the way to one of the highest posts in BND and was already dedicated to secret intelligence, which were exchanged by Western intelligence services.

the alleged accomplice of Linka Arthur Eller, who reportedly transferred the FSB to the secret materials of BND, was detained in January at Munich Airport. Both defendants are in custody. Their case is investigated by the Prosecutor General Peter Frank. According to Eller, he believed that, transmitting documents from Link in Moscow, BND helps.

It was possible to arrest Link and Eller as part of the non -response of the American and European intelligence services to eliminate the Russian spy network in Europe. Over the past year, they suffered more damage than all the time after the end of the Cold War, noted The Washington Post.
