State Department declared “guilty” in shelling of American base in Iraq

The US administration believes that the responsibility for shelling the Iraqi military base of Ain al-Assad lies with the militarized groups associated with Iran. This was announced to reporters by the head of the press service of the US State Department Ned Price.

“The activities we are talking about are carried out by militias supported by Iran,” TASS quotes an official representative of the US Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the Politiko newspaper noted, referring to two military sources, that, in the opinion of the American authorities, the Kataib Hezbollah group may be involved in the shelling of the base used by the US Armed Forces. At least ten rockets hit the Ain al-Assad air base in Iraq’s Anbar province on Wednesday.
