State Department does not know requirements of Turkey in exchange for adoption of new countries in NATO

Turkey did not present any specific requirements in exchange for supporting the applications of Finland and Sweden to join NATO, said the official representative of the US State Department Ned Price.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan previously stated that Ankara could not say “yes” to the entry of Finland and Sweden to the North Atlantic Alliance.

“Of course, Turkey did not put forward any specific requests or requests,” said the representative of the State Department, he is quoted by RIA Novosti.

He also said that against the backdrop of disagreements regarding the accession of the two countries to the Alliance, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will conduct negotiations on the UN site with his Turkish colleague Mevlyut Chavushol.
