The US Administration believes that the export of energy from Azerbaijan to European countries will help them reduce dependence on Russian deliveries, said US Secretary of State and Eurasia, Karen Donfried, at a hearing in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress Senate.
“We have long advocated diversification of energy supplies. And we see that all countries that were overly dependent on Russia are looking for other sources (supplies). And in this context, Azerbaijan plays an important role. And I think that it will continue play a very important role. We saw an increase in the volume of oil and gas supply from Azerbaijan to Europe as it leaves supplies from Russia, ”Donfried said.
