State Duma proposed to cancel recognition of Lithuania’s independence

State Duma deputy Yevgeny Fedorov proposed to cancel the decision of the USSR on the recognition of Lithuania’s independence, Russian media write.

“Deputy Fedorov introduced to the State Duma a project on the abolition of the Decree of the State Council of the USSR” On the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Lithuania, “the report said.

Note on September 6, 1991 at a meeting of the State Council of the USSR, a body created by the Extraordinary Congress of People’s Deputies, the independence of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia was recognized as the chairmanship of Mikhail Gorbachev.

Recall, Lithuania advocates the most stringent EU sanctions against Russia, consistently supports Ukraine regarding the entry into the EU, provides military support in confrontation with Russia.
