Sweden must fulfill its obligations to combat terrorism provided for by the Madrid memorandum, otherwise the Turkish parliament will not approve of the entry into this country in NATO.

This was stated by the chairman of the Great National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey Numan Kurtulmush, commenting on the prospects for Stockholm accessing to the Alliance.

In this context, Kurtulmush also pointed out the inadmissibility of aiding by the Swedish authorities shares on insulting the values ​​of Islam.

“You cannot expect from the Turkey the approval of your application for joining NATO, while continuing to create a ground for terrorist organizations and inhuman fascist actions against Islam in your country,” the speaker said.

Kurtulmush also touched the topic of war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. He recalled that Turkey makes intensive diplomatic efforts for the peaceful settlement of the conflict, maintaining contacts with both sides.
