After the week of fierce fighting, the Afghan Taliban on Saturday managed to establish control over the strategically important city of Shebergan – the capital of Jauzhang Province, reports the Afghan TV channel Tolo with reference to its own sources.
According to him, the forces of the Afghan army are now located near the local airport. Tolo reported that the Taliban divisions entered Shebergan on the eve.
Schabergan is located in the north of Afghanistan near borders with Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
