Tamash Shuyok is elected President of Hungary

The Parliament of Hungary elected the chairman of the Constitutional Court Tamash Shuyok with the new president of the republic.

134 parliamentarians voted for the candidacy of Shuyok, five deputies opposed.

Shuyok is a legal adviser, a lawyer, was an honorary consul of Austria. He has been a member of the Constitutional Court for 10 years, and since 2016 he has been heading him.

On February 10, Hungarian President Katalin Novak announced his resignation after the scandal with the pardon of a man who was convicted of hiding the case of sexual violence in the orphanage.
