Tensions in court in case of Saakashvili

In the Tbilisi City Court, a meeting began in the case of canceling or postponement of a sentence by the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili due to health reasons, he joined the meeting remotely from the hospital.

News-Georgia reports that at a court session the situation was aggravated after Saakashvili began to speak Ukrainian, since he has Ukrainian citizenship. The judge demanded to switch to the Georgian language, but then was forced to interrupt the meeting after the noise in the hall.

“Mr. Mikhail, follow the order and speak in Georgian,” said Judge George Arevadze, to which Saakashvili replied that he was a citizen of Ukraine.

Before the break was announced, the judge also rejected the lawyer’s offer to Saakashvili to raise the shirt so that everyone would see in what condition he is. “Mr. Judge, see how much Mikhail Saakashvili is in. He looks like the fighters of the Azov battalion after their release … Look at the result of the 8 -month treatment of the penitentiary service,” the lawyer said.

The judge said that if Saakashvili “starts to undress” – he will remove him from the process.
