Ter-Petrosyan: Armenia faces civil war

Internal political situation in Armenia is explosive, the situation threatens to paint almost into a civil war. About this, the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan declared in an interview with public television of Armenia.

As noted by Ter-Petrosyan, there exists a pronounced antagonism between supporters of I.O. Prime Minister Nikola Pashinyan and Ex-President Robert Kocharian. And he himself is scary to imagine what will happen if this hostility does not stop. The former head of state believes that both sides solve the issue of life and death.

in his opinion, in the political sense, 27 political forces are registered to participate in parliamentary elections. States with a parliamentary management system should have a maximum of 2-3 powerful, parties. They should periodically replace each other, possess state thinking and do not lead the country to shocks.

Ter-Petrosyan is confident that the Parliamentary Management System for Armenia means death. And certainly you need to return to the presidential form. He called the transition to the parliamentary system of the biggest mistake of the Third President Serzh Sargsyan, who was brought in his own head.

The ex-head of the state recalled that he had previously offered Kocharyan and Sargsyan joint participation in the elections to displace Pashinian, but provided that none of the former presidents should apply for power. Ter-Petrosyan believes that this was a reasonable way to get rid of Pashinyan, but the second and third presidents rejected this offer.

Now, against the background of such hostility and chaos, Ter-Petrosyan lists several possible options for the development of the situation. Run either Pashinyan or Kocharyan, which is unlikely in the case of both. Another option – a motley picture occurs: no one gets the majority, and the country turns out to be in the whirlpool of political crises. In this case, parliamentary unions are usually fragile.

At the same time, the first president of Armenia noted that, unlike the rest of the parties, his program was concise and aimed at settling the current situation.

“All parties will now present extensive programs where reforms are prescribed in certain areas, the vision of foreign policy. One such document was brought to us. I told the guys – Leave it,” said Ter-Petrosyan.

He noted that all this is good for performing in parliament, in fact it is necessary to extinguish the fire that today covered the country. The first president of Armenia compares the situation with the beginning of the 90s. According to him, Gosmashina and now, and then was fragmented, and the control – on zero, the police, local governments were not, the courts did not work.

According to Ter-Petrosyan, Armenia is awaiting very sad days.
