“The face of Kremlin propaganda”: State Department was accused of trying to “denigrate” Simonyan

The US State Department is trying to “denigrate” Russian journalists for covering international events, the Russian Embassy said in response to the publication of the American department about the editor -in -chief of RT as a Kremlin propaganda, Russian media write.

“This material is another example of frenzied attempts to denigrate our journalists for truthful coverage of international events. The fact that the State Department was engaged in this is a manifestation of difficult -toed jealousy about the sympathy and trust of the foreign public to the work of the Russian press,” the embassy noted.

Russian diplomats urged the United States to follow the principles of freedom of speech, “stop engaging in propaganda campaigns with a priori with insignificant results.”

On August 31, a material about Margarita Simonyan appeared on the website of the US State Department, where she calls it the “face of Kremlin propaganda” and “loyal propagandist” by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and was also accused of misinformation.
